Problem Note 52985: HTML reports display incomprehensible characters

DetailsAboutRate It

When you view HTML reports in SAS® Credit Risk Management for Banking, such as by selecting from available reports on the Regulatory Reports page of the Results and Reports tab of SAS® Credit Risk Studio, some of the values that are contained in the report might be incomprehensible.

This problem is known to occur if SAS Credit Risk Management for Banking is installed in a language other than English. The problem is caused by an underlying encoding inconsistency.

You can work around this problem by doing the following:

  1. Locate the physical report file. The default location is:
    <SAS-configuration-directory>/Lev<n>/AppData/SASCreditRiskMgmtBankSrvr/4.8/groups/<entity>/<user-mode>/reports/regreports/<configuration>/<report-filename>
    For example:
    C:\SAS\Config\Lev1\AppData\SASCreditRiskMgmtBankSrvr\4.8\groups\main\master\reports\regreports\BASEL\capital_ca_optimal_3_fr.html
  2. Open the file with an editor application that supports encoding conversions (for example: Notepad++).
  3. Use the editor application to convert the encoding of the file to UTF-8.
  4. In the HTML header section of the file, ensure that the content type specifies a charset value of UTF-8. For example:
    ... <meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> ...
  5. Save the file.
